Sunday was the last day to use AVI decals for crossing the Thomas J. Hatem Memorial Bridge into Cecil County.

Drivers had two E-ZPass options – a transponder for the Hatem Bridge only or one that applies to all toll facilities.

The plans are $10 per year for unlimited trips — the same as purchasing an AVI decal. This price, however, will double to $20 beginning July 1, 2013.

The E-ZPass transponder will also be free until Jan. 31, 2013 for drivers opting for the Hatem Bridge only plan.

Beginning Monday, the lane configuration at the Hatem Bridge toll plaza changed. When approaching the toll plaza, lanes one and two to the right accept cash, E-ZPass and tickets. Lanes three and four accept E-ZPass only. Lane five to the left is permanently closed.
