Driver flown to hospital after Friday crash in Havre de Grace

One person was flown to the regional trauma center after a single-vehicle crash on Route 40 in Havre de Grace early Friday morning, the Susquehanna Hose Company reported.

The Havre de Grace area's fire company responded to a 2003 Hyundai that had run off the road while the driver was headed east on Route 40 north of Blenheim Lane at about 5:09 a.m., according to the fire company's website.

The driver was identified as Joan Bowman, of the 200 block of Glenwood Road in Bel Air.

The victim was flown by Medevac to the Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, according to the website.

The car crashed through a guardrail, according to photos posted on the website. No one else was involved.
