A 21-year-old man is dead after a car accident between Churchville and Aberdeen Saturday afternoon.
About 3:50 p.m., Joshua John Hanna, of Street, was eastbound on Route 22 Saturday driving a Hyundai Elantra, according to Maryland State Police, as Jordan Craig Stewart, 26, was westbound driving a Dodge Ram pickup.
State police said Stewart, driving the pickup, failed to keep right of the center line, crossed into the other lane and hit the Elantra head-on, according to the preliminary investigation. The accident occurred in the 3100 block of Churchville Road (Route 22).
Stewart was taken to Bayview Medical Center in Baltimore with non-life threatening injuries, according to state police.
Mr. Hanna was flown by Maryland State Police Medevac to the Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, where he was pronounced dead by medical personnel, according to state police.
As of 2 p.m.. Monday, a closed Facebook group had been created with eight members for Mr. Hanna and several people had commented on his open Facebook page.
Mr. Hanna graduated from Harford Technical High School in 2008, according to a prior Aegis article. He had been working as a molding technician at D. Wheatley Enterprises Inc., according to family members, and lived in Harford County most of his life, after being born in San Antonio, Texas.
The accident remains under investigation, state police said.
