One person was injured in a single vehicle crash and rollover in front of the Humane Society of Harford County in Fallston Friday morning.
The accident in the 2000 block of Connolly Road occurred between 6:30 and 7 a.m.
A Harford County Sheriff's Office report on the accident says the driver fell asleep behind the wheel, "causing [the vehicle] to go off the roadway and strike a tree."
Upon impact, the 2011 Mazda flipped over on its rooftoop and slid approximately 50 feet down the roadway, according to the accident report.
The Mazda, which was traveling westbound on Connolly headed toward Route 152 when the crash occurred, came to rest on the opposite side of the street, along an embankment in front of the Humane Society property.
Police blocked Connolly Road at Route 152 and near Harford Road while rescue and emergency medical crews assisted the victim, who was identified in the accident report as Christopher Scott Regner, 28, of Bel Air.
A Harford County sheriff’s deputy at the scene said the driver was taken to the hospital but the injuries did not appear to be life threatening. The accident report says Regner was transported to Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air.
The report also states Regner was issued a citation "for failure to control vehicle speed on highway to avoid collision."
Connolly Road was reopened by 7:30 a.m.
