A delivery truck driver was flown to shock trauma Thursday after truck hit a tree in the 1900 block of Oakmont Road in Fallston.
The truck, headed north on Oakmont Road just beyond Arabian Way, went off the right side of the road and hit the tree, according to Monica Worrell, spokesperson for the Harford County Sheriff's Office. The accident occurred around 1:55 p.m.
The back end of the truck spun around and it landed in a yard in the 1900 block of Oakmont.
The driver, David Paul Bryce, 47, of Baltimore, was ejected from the Fed-Ex truck when it hit the tree, Worrell said.
Bryce was taken by Fallston Volunteer Fire Company ambulance to the parking lot of the nearby Chenowith Activity Center, where he was picked up by the Maryland State Police Medevac and flown to Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore. He was in good condition Thursday evening.
The Harford County Sheriff's Office is investigating.
Oakmont Road was closed between Arden Drive and Arabian Way for about two hours, Worrell said.
Harford County Volunteer Fire and EMS Association spokesman Dave Williams said the closing could affect homebound school traffic in the area.
The driver was the only occupant of the truck.Copyright © 2014, The Baltimore Sun
