A man was seriously injured Monday night after a shooting in Edgewood.

Harford County Sheriff's deputies initially responded to the 1900 block of Waltman Road at approximately 9:21 p.m. for a report of gunshots fired, according to Spokesperson Monica Worrell. Deputies were able to locate the victim, who had been "seriously shot," she added.

The man, who has since been identified as Quentin Van Stepney Jr., 27, of Edgewood, was shot in the upper torso and transported by Joppa-Magnolia Fire Company ambulance to the Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore by ambulance, Worrell said.

As of 1 a.m. Tuesday, Stepney was listed in serious but stable condition at shock trauma, Worrell said in a later news release.
