Man, 22, remains hospitalized following Edgewood shooting Monday

A 22-year-old Edgewood man remain hospitalized Tuesday following a shooting late Monday afternoon in Edgewood, according to the Harford County Sheriff's Office.

On Monday at approximately 4:15 p.m., sheriff's deputies to a call for service regarding a shooting in the 1700 block of Fountain Rock Way in Edgewood.

The victim, identified by the sheriff's office as Emmanuel Obguli, 22, of the 1800 block of Eloise Lane in Edgewood, was shot in the torso after a physical and verbal altercation involving several individuals, including a man who investigators believe was the shooter, the sheriff's office said in a news release.

Monica Worrell, spokesperson for the sheriff's office, said investigators do believe the shooting was random.

Obguli was transported to University of Maryland R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center by Maryland State Police Trooper 1 Medevac. As of Tuesday evening, he was listed in serious but stable condition at shock trauma, according to the sheriff's office.

An arrest warrant for attempted first degree murder in connection with the shooting has been issued for Neal Aaron Turner, 27, of 1800 block of Brookside Drive in Edgewood.

On Feb. 24, Turner finished serving a 30-day sentence for a resisting arrest, Maryland electronic court records show.
