Two robberies were reported over the Labor Day weekend in Edgewood, the Harford County Sheriff's Office said.
A woman told police two men grabbed her purse out of her hands in the 6200 block of Edgewood Road just before midnight on Friday, Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Cristie Kahler said.
The woman was waiting for a ride when she saw the men approaching from Royal Farms, Kahler said.
The suspect who grabbed the purse is described as black, about 20 years old, 6 feet tall, and wearing jeans and a white T-shirt.
A witness described a gray Ford F-150 pickup as a possible suspicious vehicle in the area prior to the robbery; it was last seen headed in the same direction as the male suspects, Kahler said.
Deputies searched the area for the suspects or the vehicle, but could not find them, she said.
The victim was uninjured, she said.
On Sunday, at about 4:20 a.m., a taxi driver was robbed at knifepoint in the 1700 block of Fountain Rock Way, Kahler said.
He told police he had been sent to pick up a fare in that area, she said.
"When his fare did not arrive, he continued down Fountain Rock Way when he was approached by three black males," she said. "The first was approximately 18 years old, wearing a black T-shirt and baseball cap with multiple tattoos on his arm."
"This suspect approached the driver's side of the taxi, produced a knife and held it to the driver's neck before robbing him," she said. "The other suspects were between the ages of 14 and 18. The victim sustained superficial marks on the side of his neck and refused medical treatment."
