A young woman who police said was trying to beat a train was taken to a Baltimore hospital Saturday after her car was hit.
Emergency services personnel responded to the Joppa railroad crossing for the accident, in which a train hit a car. No type of rescue was required, according to Rich Gardiner, spokesperson for the Harford County Volunteer Fire and EMS Association,
The woman, 22-year-old Ashley Lynn Culver, of Joppa, was taken by ambulance to Bayview Medical Center, according to the accident report from the Harford County Sheriff's Office.
Culver, driving a 2008 Hyundai, approached the railroad crossing, saw the train and attempted to beat the train and entered the intersection, according to the report.
