An Edgewood phone store was robbed Sunday afternoon.

Maryland State Police troopers responded to the 1900 block of Edgewood Road at 2:53 p.m. for an armed robbery at the Cricket Wireless phone store at that location, according to a news release.

In the robbery, a black man entered the store, displayed a handgun, assaulted the clerk and demanded money, state police said.

The robber fled the store on foot after getting an undisclosed amount of money and entered a Toyota Tundra, according to the release. The 24-year-old clerk, a Baltimore County woman, was not injured.

The robber is described as 5-feet, 10-inches tall, in his mid-20s, with a large build, facial hair and dread locks, wearing a black wool hat and sunglasses, according to the release. He had been seen outside the store for a couple of days leading to the robbery.
