The Harford County Health Department's Bel Air office on Hays Street was evacuated Wednesday morning for a bomb threat that turned out to be false.

The threat was received at the building at 120 Hays St. at 11:10 a.m., and the health department administration in Edgewood was notified immediately, Bill Wiseman, spokesman for the health department, said.

The building was evacuated and emergency personnel searched the facility, Wiseman said.

Nothing was found, and employees were allowed to return at 1 p.m.

"We are doing business as usual," Wiseman said about 1:30 p.m.
