An Edgewood man is being held without bail at the Harford County Detention Center on assault charges.
George Allen Richardson, 42, of the 1700 block of Crimson Tree Way, was charged Wednesday with first- and second-degree assault.
Harford Assistant State's Attorney Eli Silverstein briefly recapped the charging documents, saying Richardson allegedly punched his child's mother in her face, choked her and kicked her to the point she was unconscious. The alleged attack happened outside.
Richardson then brought her inside, allegedly "threw" her on the couch and called 9-1-1 for her to be taken to Upper Chesapeake Medical Center, according to Silverstein.
His public defender, Sarah Klemm, asked for a reasonable bail to be set for Richardson, who she said lives with his wife and four children in Edgewood.
Dunnigan denied a bail reduction.
