A man was TASERed and charged with disorderly conduct and assault following a girls' basketball game at Aberdeen High School Wednesday night, Aberdeen police said Thursday morning.
"Apparently it was after the game," Lt. Fred Budnick, of the Aberdeen Police Department, said. "He tried to exit the game through another door [that security wanted closed]."
The man, who was not a student, then assaulted a police officer, who ended up using a TASER on him, Budnick said.
The Aberdeen girls' basketball team played in a semifinal playoff with Digital Harbor. Aberdeen won, 67-41.
Neither the officer nor the man was seriously injured, Budnick said.
The man was arrested and charged with assault and disorderly conduct, he said.
Budnick did not have the man's name available Thursday morning.
Teri Kranefeld, spokeswoman for Harford County Public Schools, referred all questions to Aberdeen police.
