Around 5 p.m. police and medical personnel were called to the scene of a two car accident in the lanes for southbound traffic not far from the exit from I-95 onto Route 152 in Joppa, according to Maryland State Police with the JFK Highway Barrack.

Two patients were taken by ambulance to area hospitals with what appeared to be non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

Three southbound lanes were closed to traffic for about an hour. All lanes of the busy interstate highway were reopened by 7 p.m. and traffic was moving smoothly, according to state police.
