A Perryville motorcyclist was killed early Friday afternoon near the busy intersection of Routes 543 and 22 in Fountain Green.
The motorcycle driver, Monte Alonzo Greenhow, 49, of the 200 block of Thomas Point Way in Perryville, was driving his 2006 Kawasaki east in the slow lane around 2:15 p.m. on Route 22 just before the entrance to the Wawa when a 2010 Hyundai turned in front of him, according to the duty officer at the Maryland State Police Bel Air Barrack.
The driver of the Hyundai, a 17-year-old male from the 200 block of Fairwood Road in Bel Air, was heading west on Route 22 and trying to turn left into the Wawa parking lot when he pulled in front of the motorcycle's right of way. Mr. Greenhow tried to avoid a collision, but hit the right rear passenger side of the Hyundai, according to a press release.

Mr. Greenhow was ejected from the bike and landed in the road. He was taken to Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air, where he was pronounced dead, according to the release from state police.
The operator and juvenile occupants of the Hyundai were not injured.
Troopers are continuing to investigate the crash. Route 22 remained closed for several hours while the scene was investigated.
No alcohol was involved, according to the duty officer.
Charges are pending against the juvenile after a review of the accident by the Harford County State's Attorney's Office.
It is the 19th fatal accident on Harford County roads this year.
