BREVARD COLLEGE: Brevard College in Brevard, N.C., has named Antonio Johnson of Forest Hill to the honor roll for the fall semester of the 2012-2013 academic year.
GEORGE WASHINGTON UNIVERSITY: Hanna Stambaugh, a 2012 graduate of Bel Air High School, was named to the dean's honor list, attending the International Affairs at Elliot School. Dean's honor list is attained by earning a minimum of 3.75 GPA with 15 or more credits.
MARYMOUNT UNIVERSITY: William Sakell, a Health Sciences major from Bel Air, and Emily Wagner, an interior design major from Forest Hill, students at Marymount University, were recognized in the 2013 Edition Of Who's Who Among Students.
WEST VIRGINIA WESLEYAN COLLEGE: Kelsey Hangeland of Jarrettsville has been named to the 2012 fall semester dean's list at West Virginia Wesleyan. Wesleyan's dean's list requires students to earn a grade point average of 3.5 to 3.9 in 12 or more semester hours.
FORT HAYS STATE UNIVERSITY: Leann Schueneman of Forest Hill, an elementary education major, has been named to Fort Hays State University's dean's honor roll for the fall 2012 semester.
SAVANNAH COLLEGE OF ART AND DESIGN: Taylor Lambert of Bel Air recently graduated from the Savannah College of Art and Design with a bachelor of fine arts in graphic design.
SUNY POTSDAM: Megan Fritzsching of Aberdeen Proving Ground was recently named to the President's List at The State University of New York at Potsdam. Fritzsching, whose major is childhood/early child education, was among nearly 900 SUNY Potsdam students who were honored for academic excellence.
ST. MARY'S COLLEGE OF MARYLAND: Junior Donn Hill, of Bel Air, on the St. Mary's College of Maryland men's basketball team, was selected by the Department of Athletics and Recreation as the Athlete of the Month for December.
FLORIDA INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY: Spenser Puffenbarger, of Aberdeen, a civil engineering major; and Zachary Litsch, of Belcamp, a chemical engineering major, were named to the dean's list for the fall semester at Florida Institute of Technology.
FROSTBURG STATE UNIVERSITY: W. Bruce Huffman, of Joppa, received the Hammond Pursuit of Excellence Scholarship: In Memory of Eleanor Anna Hammond for study at Frostburg State University. Huffman attended Joppatowne High School.
MUHLENBERG COLLEGE: Muhlenberg College has announced its dean's list for the fall 2012 semester. Students must earn a minimum of a 3.5 grade point average (4.0-scale) to attain dean's list status. Elizabeth Thompson, a sophomore, is a biology and dance major from Bel Air and graduate of Bel Air High School; Dylan White, a junior, is a film studies and media and communication major from Bel Air and a graduate of Bel Air High School.
CURRY COLLEGE: Alexis Evers of Forest Hill was named to the Curry College dean's list for the fall 2012 term.
WAGNER COLLEGE: Released its academic honor lists for the Fall 2012 semester.
Emma L. Streett of Bel Air, made the dean's list for the fall 2012 semester at Wagner College.
CLEMSON UNIVERSITY: The following local residents have been named to the dean's list at Clemson University for the fall 2012 semester: Kelly Ann Creswell of Bel Air, who is majoring in biosystems engineering; Brian Patrick Murphy of Bel Air, who is majoring in chemical engineering; Emily E. Wakefield of Forest Hill, who is majoring in chemical engineering; Dana Marie Packett of Fallston, who is majoring in environmental natural resources (conservation biology); Shelby Rebecca Thies of Forest Hill, who is majoring in general engineering; and Talia Angela Kahoe of Forest Hill, who is majoring in pre-business. To be named to the Dean's List, a student must achieve a grade-point average between 3.50 and 3.99 on a 4.0 scale.
BUCKNELL UNIVERSITY: Bucknell University has released the dean's list for outstanding academic achievement during the fall semester of the 2012-13 academic year. A student must earn a grade point average of 3.5 or higher on a scale of 4.0 to receive dean's list recognition. Among them are Jillian K. DiPasquale, Joppa, daughter of Marc and Donna DiPasquale of Joppa and a 2009 graduate of Roland Park Country School, Baltimore; Cameron T. James, Fallston, son of Carl and Lori James of Fallston and a 2012 graduate of Loyola Blakefield High School, Towson; Samantha L. Rickels, Forest Hill, daughter of Donald and Cathy Rickels of Forest Hill and a 2012 graduate of Towson High School, Towson; Thomas S. Bollinger, Stewartstown, Pa., son of Robert Bollinger of Stewartstown and a 2010 graduate of Kennard-Dale High School, Fawn Grove.
GEORGIA TECH: Stewart Hall of Monkton earned the distinction of faculty honors for fall 2012 at the Georgia Institute of Technology.
SEWANEE: Tarver Shimek of Darlington has been named to the dean's list at the University of the South for the Advent 2012 term. To earn a place on Sewanee's dean's list, a student must earn a minimum grade point average of 3.625 on a 4.0 scale. Shimek is the child of William G. Shimek.
WESTERN NEW ENGLAND UNIVERSITY: Shelby L. Bartram of Port Deposit, a junior majoring in biomedical engineering, and Brian J. Schultz of Bel Air, a senior majoring in chemistry, were named to dean's list at Western New England for the fall semester of 2012. Students are named to the Dean's List for achieving a semester grade point average of 3.30 or higher.
UNIVERSITY OF PITTSBURGH BRADFORD: Emily Lyon Angel, a senior elementary education major from Stewartstown, Pa., was among 267 students named to the fall dean's list at University of Pittsburgh at Bradford. Dean's list status is awarded to full-time students who have earned a grade point average of 3.5 or higher.
ELON UNIVERSITY: Megan Elizabeth Foard, daughter of Richard and Roberta Foard of Forest Hill, has been named to the dean's list for the 2012 fall semester at Elon University. The dean's list includes students with no grade below a B- and a grade point average of at least 3.50 in a minimum of 12 semester hours.
UNIVERSITY OF SCRANTON: Steven Graefe of Street, a freshman exercise science major, was named to the University of Scranton's dean's list for the fall 2012 semester. A student must have a grade point average of 3.5 or better with a minimum number of credit hours to make the Dean's List.
CLARKSON UNIVERSITY: Steven H. Poffenberger of Forest Hill, is a freshman majoring in aeronautical engineering, was named to the dean's list for the fall 2012 semester at Clarkson University.
