Susan Muaddi Darraj, associate professor of English at Harford Community College, has been named to a list of the Top 25 Women Professors in Maryland for 2013 by StateStats.org. StateStats.org , in conjunction with partner website OnlineSchoolsMaryland.com, set out to find postsecondary educators who had been recognized recently for excellence in the classroom, on campus and in the community.

"Our goal with the top professor project is to recognize some of Maryland's stand-out educators and mentors," said Wes Ricketts, vice president and general manager of StateStats.org. "When our site visitors expressed deep interest in learning about the people who make the state's colleges and universities truly tick, we were honored to oblige."

The editorial and executive teams at Statestats.org sought 20 to 25 professors in Maryland who have excelled in the classroom, on campus and the community in 2012. They look for recent awards, publications and recognitions that signal such excellence. The editorial and executive committee consists of a former kindergarten to postsecondary educator, a former education and writing instructor and a doctor of English instructor.

The lists they compiled for 2013 include the Top 25 Education Professors in Maryland, Top 20 Psychology Professors in Maryland, Top 18 Medical and Nursing Professors in Maryland and Top 25 Women Professors in Maryland.
