A 28-year-old man was struck in the head with a gun and shot at in Perryman near Aberdeen on Wednesday night, according to the Harford County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies responded to the 200 block of Perrywood Court about 7:20 p.m. after being called by the man, and found him there with a laceration on his head, said Capt. Chris Swain, a sheriff's office spokesman.
The man, who was not identified, told police he was walking in the area when three men "came out of nowhere" and one of them "hit him with a gun and knocked him down," Swain said.
The man said he jumped up and ran from the group and into an apartment. As he was running, one of the men shot at him, Swain said.
Emergency responders said the victim's wound could have come from a bullet so he was taken by ambulance to Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore with non-life-threatening wounds, Swain said.
Doctors determined the victim was not hit by a bullet, he said Thursday.
Police have no suspects in the assault, Swain said.Copyright © 2015, The Baltimore Sun
