A man tried to rob a woman of her purse in Aberdeen Monday night, but she wouldn't let it go.
Around 9:45 p.m., a man and woman returned to their home in the 400 block of South Law Street and pulled their car to the rear of their house, Lt. Fred Budnick, of the Aberdeen Police Department, said.
The couple parked at the rear of the house, and as they got out of the car, were confronted by a man with a gun. The man demanded the woman's purse, but she held on to it and the robber ran off
Police searched the area using a police dog, but could not track the robber.
No one was injured in the attempted robbery.
The robber is described as a black man, about 5 feet, 11 inches tall with a thin build, Budnick said. He was wearing a mask around the bottom half of his face and a bomber-type jacket with a fur liner.
Anyone with information on the attempted robbery is asked to call the Aberdeen Police Department's criminal investigation division at 410-272-2121.Copyright © 2015, The Baltimore Sun
