The Port Deposit Heritage Corporation is preparing for the Christmas Candlelight Tour on Saturday, Dec. 1 from noon until 5 p.m. throughout Main Street. The $15 tour tickets may be purchased in the center of town at The Bank Building or at the Paw Paw Museum, 98 N. Main St. Why not start off with lunch at one of Port's restaurants? All six eateries are in the same general area in the center of town, with one on the east bank of the Susquehanna River. Port's restaurants include The Hidden Bean, C.M. Tugs, Joe's Grog House, BackFin Blues, DiLorenzo's (formerly Winchester's) and the Susky River Grille. In addition, continuing north on Route 222, you will find the Union Hotel, between Port Deposit and the Conowingo Dam.
Eight of the 12 stops om the tour are residences, one is a bed and breakfast, one is the Heritage's Museum, one is the former Cecil National Bank Building and one is a church, Port Deposit Presbyterian Church. The church plans to have vendors in the fellowship hall along with a bake sale and a soup sale. In addition, this location will feature music throughout the day. Eight of the stops are on South Main Street while three are on North Main Street and one is on Center Street. PDHC Director and Tour Chairman Lois Ashworth invited newcomers and old stand-bys to show their homes this year. Go to email@example.com for more information.

Thanks to all those who worked, donated or patronized Saturday's Christmas Prize Bingo to benefit the Ladies Auxiliary to the Water Witch Fire Company at the Post 8185 VFW in Port Deposit. Ways and Means Chairman Anne Gibson purchased more than 50 items to be used as prizes, including dolls, games, appliances, electronics, toys, household items, gift cards and tools. Fire Company members helped call back numbers and ladies auxiliary members worked the floor and the kitchen. All proceeds will benefit the Ladies Auxiliary, and ultimately the Water Witch Fire Company.
