The weather certainly did not cooperate last week for the annual Water Witch Firemen's Carnival. The carnival was rained out on Tuesday evening as well as Saturday evening.

Happy birthday to David Fasterling, son of Roxanne and Chuck Fasterling, Colora, as he celebrated on May 10.

Speedy recovery to Maggie Jackson, Jackson Park Road, as she had a recent stay at Harford Memorial Hospital. Also Miss Maggie celebrated her birthday on Monday, May 13, while in the hospital.

The Ladies Auxiliary to the VFW Post 8185 entertained the Perry Point veterans on Mother's Day, Sunday, May 12 at the post home on Susquehanna River Road. Pat Job and her crew served a baked chicken dinner which was followed by music provided by DJ Bob Cross.

Another Port-ite in Harford Memorial is Marion Fox. Get well soon! And Teresa Bittner remains in rehab at Citizen's Care Center after fracturing her pelvis.

Tim Gibson, Port, added a year to his age on May 14 and Richard Tennis, Rising Sun, enjoyed birthday greetings on May 15.

Good Shepherd School, 800 Aiken Ave., Perryville, will sponsor the Annual 5K and 1 Mile Family Fun Walk on Saturday. Call the school at 410-642-6265 for details on how to participate or how to sponsor your walker/runner.

Look for this year's Boat Show at Tome's Landing Marina on Saturday and Sunday, May 19 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The marina is at 69 S. Main St. Plan to stop by and take a gander at the new models on display.

The North East Fire Company will sponsor its next monthly breakfast on Sunday from 7 to 11 a.m. in the fire hall on Mauldin Avenue. The cost for adults is $8.

The Ladies Auxiliary to the Water Witch Fire Company will meet on Monday, May 21 for their regular monthly meeting at Woodlawn Station.

The Darlington Volunteer Fire Company will sponsor a car show on Sunday, May 26 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the fire station, 2600 Castleton Road.

Cecil County's Relay for Life will be held at Elkton High School, James Street, Elkton on Friday, May 31 with opening ceremonies starting at 6 p.m. Entertainment and activities are scheduled throughout the evening with closing ceremonies are at 6 a.m. on Saturday, June 1. The 37 teams have raised almost $50,000 toward the goal of $142,000.

This year's Sunfest, the annual town-wide street festival in Rising Sun, will be held on the first Saturday in June from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The Paw Paw Museum, sponsored by the Port Deposit Heritage Corp. at 98 N. Main Street, will be open on the second Sunday of the month from May through October from 1 to 5 p.m. The Bainbridge Museum continues to open every weekend from 1 to 5 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays until December.
