Susquehanna Lodge No 130 A.F. & A.M. from Havre de Grace held an open installation at the Mt. Ararat Lodge room in Bel Air last week. The Grand Officers of the Grand Lodge of Maryland lead by the Most Worshipful Grand Master Gerald E. Piepiora presided over the installation ceremony. The officers installed as the 2013 – 2014 officers were Worshipful Master Mark T. Fayer Sr.; Senior Warden Michael Hitchings; Junior Warden Patrick Sypolt; Secretary John Ford; Treasurer Steve Gamatoria Jr.; Senior Deacon Al Peteraf; Junior Deacon John Reinhart, Jr.; Senior Steward Scott Padgett; Chaplain Bill Mentzer, PM. The Grand Inspector is Bill McGahan. Well in excess of 100 people were present including the wife of the Worshipful Master, Sally Fayer, his son and daughter, his parents Jim and Betty Fayer and his brother Tom. Many members of the DeMolay and Jobs Daughters International where Mark had served as Associate Grand Guardian. The Most Worshipful Grand Master announced that he had appointed Brother James Gamble a Grand Inspector posthumously.
A total of 14 Members of Havre de Grace Chapter 27 attended the open installation of the Susquehanna Lodge No 130 AF & AM officers. Those officers attending included Associate Matron and Associate Patron Carolyn and Ron Mathias; Treasurer Diane Smith; Conductress Susie Passwaters; Chaplain Louise Fagan; Ruth – Beverly Southall; Esther – Carolyn Brennan; Martha – Jean Gamble. Other Havre de Grace members attending were Roger A. Southall Sr., Jim and Betty Fayer; Baxter Leppert; Phil Powell; Evelyn Owens. Also in attendance was newly elected to join Havre de Grace OES Chapter Chuck Brennan.
Havre de Grace Chapter No. 27 led by Acting Worthy Matron Sister Carolyn Mathias honored their Deputy Grand Lecturer Sister Betty Bollock at their last regularly scheduled meeting.
The Severna Park Chapter 117 held their Grand Visitation meeting of the Grand Officers of Maryland Order of the Eastern Star. The Worthy Matron Sister Cynthia Rafferty and Worthy Patron Brother Steve Sink greeted the Worthy Grand Matron Sister Debbie Hribar and Worthy Grand Patron Brother David Hall and other Grand officers at a special meeting held at the Odenton Chapter Room.
Those greeted included Worthy Grand Matron Sister Debbie Hribar; Worthy Grand Patron Brother David Hall; Associate Grand Patron Brother Bill Gunn; Grand Conductress Sister Claudia Eaton; Grand Trustees Sister Joan Morris, PGM and Leslie Gilliam, PGM; Grand Chaplain Sister Elaine Niemeyer; Grand Lecturer Sister Jean Chance, PGM; Grand Marshal Sister Judy Birckhead; Grand Organist Sister Donna Runyan; Grand Adah Sister Toby Harvie; Grand Ruth Sister Beverly Geisler; Grand Electa Sister Sharon Earl; Grand Martha Sister Beverly Southall, Grand Electa Sister Loretta Donaldson; Grand Warder Sister Sheryl Peters and Grand Sentinel Brother Cecil Jones. Also greeted by the Worthy Matron were nine Past Grand Matrons and Patrons; 11 Deputy Grand Lecturers including Sister Isabelle Beagle the Deputy assigned to Severna Park Chapter; 12 Grand Representatives; 15 Worthy Matrons and Worthy Patrons of other Chapters; 15 Chairman, Co-Chaiman and Secretary / Treasurers of Standing and Special Committees; Sister Judy Hall, wife of the Worthy Grand Patron; Brother Kevin Hribar, husband of the Worthy Grand Matron; nine Past Matrons and Past Patrons, 8 visitors, Severna Park Chapter officers and members, Honorary Members of Severna Park and 16 Masonic Brothers. Joining the Hive Hoppers Club were Regina Widderich, Mary Johnson and Beverly Pazack. The Worthy Matron presented the Worthy Grand Matron a very special tea set that was purchased when she was overseas many years ago.
The second annual Duck Dunk will be held this Saturday at 10 am in Tydings Park, Havre de Grace. Bill Bateman's Bistro will be providing a free breakfast to all the dunkers. There will also be a breakfast available for the non-dunkers at a fee. The dunker registration fee is $35.
