Reba Ann Hause was the guest of honor at a bridal shower Sunday. Held at the home of her mother, Cheryl Whited, and given by her matron of honor, Ashley Barton, sister of the bride, and her bridesmaids, sister Chrissie Grove, cousin Amy Donoho, niece Julia Berg and junior bridesmaid Reba Grove, her niece. Family members of Reba's paternal side of the family included Mom Mom Peggy Scholl, Aunt Mary Lou Southall, close friends of the family Shirley Volkart and Joan Pyle and me.

Congratulations to Pastor Neale Wirtanen and his new bride, Janet, who were married Saturday, Sept. 15.

Havre de Grace Elks Lodge is having a self-serve all-you-can-eat waffle breakfast on Sunday, Sept. 30 from 8 to 11 a.m. $6 per person for homemade waffles with a variety of toppings along with bacon, sausage, juices and coffee.

The Grand Chapter of Maryland held its Eastern Shore Grand Visitation meetings last week with the first meeting at Worcester Chapter 102 in Snow Hill, the second meeting at Wicomico Chapter 91 in Salisbury and the third and final meeting at Roelma Chapter 113 in Sharptown.

The chapters honored the Worthy Grand Matron Sister Debbie Hribar and Worthy Grand Patron brother David Hall and their corps of Grand Officers including: Associate Grand Matron Bette L. Bowen; Grand Secretary Donna Almony; Grand Treasurer Patty Snell; Grand Conductress Claudia A. Eaton; Associate Grand Conductress Nancy L. Ford; Grand Trustee Leslie R. Gilliam, PGM Grand Chaplain C. Elaine Niemeyer; Grand Lecturer Jean K. Chance, PGM; Grand Marshal Judith Birckhead; Grand Organist Donna Runyan; Grand Adah Winifred Harvey; Grand Ruth Beverly J. Geisler; Grand Esther Sharon G. The Past and Present Matrons and Patrons Association of Northern Maryland of the Grand Chapter of Maryland Order of the Eastern Star held its quarterly meeting at Chippaerelli's this week. Those in attendance were Tom and Marianne Preyer, Ed and Sandy Matthews, Rosalie Monath, Sandra Lee Massey, all from Victory Chapter 40 in Aberdeen; Tom and Sue McLaughlin, Aileen Squires, Diane Smith, Roger and I, Louise Fagan, Carolyn and Ron Mathias, Susie Passwaters and Joyce Caldwell, all from Havre de Grace Chapter 27; and Betty Bollock, Bonnie Plitka, Kathy Voris, Becky Gjerdahl and Jean Penley, all from Harford Chapter 84 in Bel Air.

The new corps of association officers was elected as this meeting with the following elected to serve for the 2012-2013 year: Susan Passwaters, Havre de Grace Chapter 27, president; Sandra Lee Massey, Victory Chapter 40, vice president; Diane Smith, Havre de Grace Chapter 27, secretary; and Kathy Voris, Harford Chapter 84, treasurer.
