March is here! We saw our first robins last week. Ducks and geese were on the pond. Spring surely must not be far away!
The Aberdeen Senior Center is gearing up for an active new season. On Monday, March 4, spring registration began. On April 1, spring classes will start and last through June 7.
On Tuesday, March 5, and again on March 19, the Diabetes Support Group met from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. The retired nurses gave tips and other helpful hints.
On Thursday, March 7, Shari Haupt from Walgreens gave healthful tips to help manage diabetes.
On Friday, March 15, something new to Aberdeen is coming. There will be a book discussion with Bob Hoff from 10:30 until 11:30 a.m. Bob is from the Bel Air library and will lead a discussion of "The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time" by Mark Haddon.
On Thursday, March 21, there will be Big Bingo with a healthy twist. From 10 a.m. until noon, all can enjoy bingo and have healthy fare at the same time. Call the center, 410-273-5666, for details.
On Friday, March 22, all senior centers will be closed.
Wednesday, March 27, is something special. There will be a Pizza Party and music with "confusion." This will all begin at 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m., with $3 will be due at the time of signup. What will be on the menu? Two slices of pizza, a salad and a dessert. This is an opportunity you do not want to miss!
On Thursday, March 28, there will be another opportunity. Who doesn't have trouble with their feet at times? Christina Pedini from the Upper Chesapeake Re-hab Center will give some valuable answers! At 10:30 a.m. she will teach how to keep your feet healthy.
Spring will be with us, and we all need our feet to get us where we need to go.

So what else happens when we think spring? Our clocks will need to spring forward. The time to wake up will be one hour earlier on Sunday, March 10. Do not get caught napping. Set your clocks ahead one hour on Saturday evening before retiring!
The Aberdeen Fire Department will hold its annual banquet Saturday at the Fire Hall at 5 p.m., with dinner at 6 p.m.
