Everyone loves a parade and when it involves the Cal Ripken World Series, it will certainly be special!
The date for the parade is Aug. 11 in downtown Aberdeen. It will be held for the approximately 20 teams from different states and countries.
Entry forms have been sent out, and those who plan to participate should return the form by July 30. If you did not receive an entry mailing, please call Caroline, 410-272-5242, or Betty, 410-272-4981.
Those participating in the parade are asked to be present for line-up at 10 a.m. at St. Joan of Arc Church on the corner of Law and Plater streets. Traffic is asked to enter the staging area via Route 40 to Warren Street.
The parade will begin promptly at 11 a.m. It will probably be one mile long, lasting about an hour. The route for the parade will travel on Law Street to West Bel Air Avenue. It will make a right turn on West Bel Air Avenue and then turn left at Howard Street to Festival Park.
Everyone knows what a wonderful event this is for young and old every year, so this is such an opportunity to show local spirit and greet the young players and families with a big welcoming parade!
Remember, entries must be in by July 30. If you need more information, the numbers are 410-272-5242 or 410-272-4981.
We hope to see you there!
