With school days upon us, all should be reminded of school safety rules.

With buses going to and from the many Aberdeen schools, all drivers are reminded of the traffic laws. When red lights are flashing on the school bus, no driver should pass that bus.

Bus drivers alert drivers when children are getting off and on the buses with their flashing lights.

It is the responsibility of parents to alert children to walk safely to bus stops, and to walk with someone for safety reasons. Children should be taught about the danger of strangers, and to come home directly from school.

Parents should review safety rules with their children. They should not play in the streets while waiting for buses and must remain seated while riding in the bus.

Aberdeen police remind parents, motorists and children of these safety rules.
