FEW celebrates 22nd anniversary

The Maryland Tri-County Chapter of Federally Employed Women held an anniversary celebration on June 15, at the Hilton Garden Inn in Aberdeen. The Chapter celebrated 22 consecutive years.

The breakfast was attended by more that 30 FEW members and guests. Veronica Brown, founder of the chapter, spoke about how she had attended many of the annual FEW National Training Programs and talked with several individuals about starting a FEW chapter in Harford County. She said after reviewing all the qualifications, a chapter was started. Allison Bruno, also a chartered member, spoke about the beginning years of FEW and displayed numerous articles on the beginning of the chapter.

President Michelle Crockett, and Executive Vice President Wanda Killingsworth attended the breakfast and encouraged the chapter to continue to strive for the rights of women. Their message was women have come a long way but they still have a lot of work to do to be taken seriously in the workplace. Cindy Wilson, MID-Atlantic regional manager, of which MD-Tri Country is a member, said she always looks forward to the reports from chapter as they are always doing great things. The members of the MD-Tri County Chapter consist of federal workers from Baltimore, Harford and Cecil counties.
