The Aegis Empty Stocking Fund, organized in 1990, is celebrating 21 years of helping Harford County families and senior citizens over the Christmas holiday season.
This would not have been possible if it had not been for the businesses, community organizations, Girl and Boy Scout troops, schools and many other groups and individuals who have contributed toys, money, held toy drives and volunteered. The Empty Stocking Fund Committee volunteers say they wish to thank everyone who has had a part in this charity.
This year the Empty Stocking Fund has again set a fundraising goal of $80,000 and will also gratefully accept donations of new, unwrapped toys. The Empty Stocking Fund so far this year has received $ 31,149 in donations.
No contribution is too small, according to the committee. When added together, every donation helps provide a holiday for those who might otherwise go without.
If you would like to help brighten the holidays for a needy family or person, you may send a check to The Aegis Empty Stocking Fund, P.O. Box 189, Bel Air, MD 21014.
Recent donations were received from Freedom Federal Credit Union, $1,000; William and Joan Dorn, $100; Carl and Helen Schlaich, $100 and William and Linda Reulling, $100. Several anonymous donations have also been received.
