Heard about the bread at Scarborough's Store yet? Local baker Lisa Reeves is fulfilling her dream to turn a hobby into a small business. According to Lisa, she used to work full-time and commute quite a distance, but then she had the opportunity to work out of her home. She loves to bake and started with typical breads, white and whole wheat, which she baked for family and friends. But once she expanded into "rustic" breads, she saw the business potential. Now, a year and a half later, she is licensed through the State of Maryland and bakes all her products by hand from start to finish. She sells her beautiful loaves at Scarborough's Store in Darlington. Since her capacity is limited, you have to pre-order through Scarborough's, 410-457-4242, if you want to pick up your bread there. She delivers on Thursday late afternoon. She also accepts special large orders for parties or dinners. Lisa can be reached at 410-459-7588 to check out the large variety she bakes.

The Darlington Lions is having their annual Christmas Fruit Sale. Navel oranges are available by the full case for $25 and a half case for $14. Grapefruit can be purchased for $24 for a full case and $14 for a half case. The fruit will be distributed Dec. 8 at the Darlington Methodist Church fro 9 to 10:30 a.m. Orders may be placed by calling Larry Burton, 410-457-8787, by Nov. 22

Help support our schools! The Unique Boutique and The Painted Wonders, 3321 Conowingo Road in Street, will be collecting food for needy families for the holidays.
