Marqurite Hall is filled with joy as she rejoices over the birth of her 18th great-granddaughter, Arianna Evelyn Hall, who was born Aug. 4 at the University of Virginia Hospital in Charlottesville, Va. She weighed in at 4 pounds, 6 ounces and was 16 inches long. Her parents are Jared and Sara Hall of Culpepper, Va. She has two brothers, Morgan and Daniel, and a half brother J.C. The proud grandparents are David and Debbie Hall of Warrenton, Va. She also was born on her 4-year-old cousin, Daisy Rain's birthday, what a coincidence!
The Wilson Center Art Show will be held Friday, Sept. 7 from 6 to 9 p.m. with live music, Saturday, Sept. 8 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday, Sept. 9 from noon to 5 p.m. Join them for this most special event.

The Darlington Lions Club and the Darlington United Church are joining to host their annual chicken barbecue dinner on Saturday, Aug. 25 from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Darlington Volunteer Fire Company social hall. The cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children's portions. The meal includes half of a barbecue chicken, homemade potato salad and coleslaw, green beans, roll and butter, coffee, iced tea and dessert. Carry-out orders will be available for purchase. Deer Creek Friends Meeting will host an Afternoon English Tea for Heifer International on Saturday, Aug. 25 at 2:30 p.m. at the Meeting House. Tickets are $15 which will include delicious English tea, an assortment of sandwiches and a decadent selection of sweet and savory home baked goodies.
