The Dublin/Darlington Community Council will hold its regular monthly meeting at 7 p.m. June 20 at the Conowingo Visitor Center, 4948 Conowingo Road (Route 1 just south of the dam). Harford County Executive David Craig will be the guest speaker. Everyone is welcome to attend.
The Darlington Independence Day parade and Fireworks Celebration will be held Saturday, June 23. The parade steps off at 5:30 p.m. from the weigh station on Route 1. Then, the parade winds down Main Street in Darlington onto Shuresville Road to Francis Silver Park. There will be plenty of entertainment and food. Bring your own lawn chairs and blankets.
Hosanna AME Fish Fry is Saturday from noon until dinners are sold out! The church is at 2418 Castleton Road in Darlington. Dinner $10, sandwich $8.
Vacation Bible School is at Dublin United Methodist Church from July 18 to 20, 6 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Classes for children ages 4 through 16. The theme is "Sky – Everything is Possible With God." A light supper will be provided. Pre-registration is requested at 410-836-3647.
Guitar lessons for beginners and advanced layers of all ages are offered at the Wilson Center. Instructor Mark Galicki is an accomplished guitarist with 36 years of experience. The 17th Annual Blueberry Festival at Deer Creek Friends Meeting, 1212 Main St., Darlington, will be held 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, July 14. Enjoy homemade blueberry pies and baked goods, fresh picked blueberries, blueberry desserts with ice cream, a white elephant table and an 11 a.m. auction, a used book sale, hamburgers, hot dogs and lemonade.
