WAKE FOREST UNIVERSITY: Gerard Neely, of Forest Hill, graduated from Wake Forest University on May 20.
JAMES MADISON UNIVERSITY: The following students graduated from James Madison University May 4: Christopher Petty, of Jarrettsville; Rachel Otto, of Fallston and Graham Farr, of Forest Hill. The following students made the dean's list at James Madison University for the spring semester: Catherine Ambrosich, of Fallston; Hayley Boyle, of Baldwin; Michelle Cocco, of Bel Air; Graham Farr, of Forest Hill; Torie Kennelly, of Baldwin; Leah Perrotta, of Forest Hill; Justin Sommer, of Fallston, and Zoe Zublick of Abingdon.
The following students made the president's list at James Madison University for the spring semester: Rebecca O'Brien, of Joppa; Rachel Otto, of Fallston; Kelly Rudolph, of Kingsville, and Erin Wallace of Bel Air.
DELAWARE VALLEY COLLEGE: The following students are on the list of May graduates at Delaware Valley College: Erin Aylward, of Edgewood; Matthew Farace, of Bel Air and Samantha Pencek, of Bel Air.
SAINT AUGUSTINE'S UNIVERSITY: Trey Hathaway, of Abingdon, has been admitted to Saint Augustine's University for the fall semester.
BOSTON COLLEGE: Grace Kim, of Bel Air, has graduated magna cum laude from Boston College with a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University's College of Arts and Sciences and with a major in International Studies.
COLORADO COLLEGE: Audrey Burns graduated with a degree in Environmental Science from Colorado College. She is the daughter of Timothy and Heidi Burns of Bel Air.
UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS AT CHICAGO: Autumn Kulaga, of White Hall, earned an MS in Biomedical Visual at the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Applied Health Sciences.
SUSQUEHANNA UNIVERSITY: Two local students were named to Susquehanna University's dean's list for the spring semester. They are: Elise Mervine, of Bel Air, a rising sophomore majoring in music education with a vocal emphasis and a 2012 graduate of Patterson Mill High School and the daughter of Kris and Wendy Mervine; also, Kathleen Sutton, of Pylesville, a recent graduate who majored in business administration with emphases in global management and finance and a 2009 graduate of North Harford High School and the daughter of David and Colleen Sutton.
SOUTHERN METHODIST UNIVERSITY: Kevin Matejka, of Whiteford, received a Bachelor of Arts in international studies in May at the Southern Methodist University commencement. Matejka is listed on the honor roll with distinction. To be listed on the SMU honor roll with distinction, students must be in the top 10 percent of their school of record. SMU's Spring 2013 enrollment included 10,541students.
WIDENER UNIVERSITY: The following people earned associate's, bachelor's, master's or doctoral degrees from Widener University on May 18: Emily Bochniak, of Fallston, who received a bachelor of arts degree in elementary education/middle years; Bradley Waltman, of Bel Air, who received a bachelor of arts degree in criminal justice; Thomas Livezey, of Bel Air, who received a bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering; Daniel Lorenzet, of Forest Hill, who received a bachelor of science degree in management.
SPRINGFIELD COLLEGE: Gail Lewis, of Bel Air, has earned a bachelor of science in Human Services from Springfield College in Massachusetts for studies completed in 2013.
WESTERN NEW ENGLAND UNIVERSITY: Brian J. Schultz, of Bel Air, received a Bachelor of Science degree from Western New England University on May 18.
LAFAYETTE COLLEGE: Area students named to the 2013 spring semester Dean's List at Lafayette College include: Joseph Ingrao, of Bel Air, a graduate of C. Milton Wright High School; and Jillian Dozier, of Fallston, a graduate of Fallston High School. Lafayette is a liberal arts college with 2,400 students and 215 full-time faculty that offers a variety of undergraduate degree programs including engineering.
CREIGHTON UNIVERSITY: Kathleen Mero, of Delta, Pa., was named to the spring dean's list at Creighton University.
SCHOLARSHIPS: Abigale I. Blessing, of Aberdeen, and Amanda R. Shetterly, of Churchchville, were each awarded a $500 scholarship from The Cecil and Harford County municipalities.
MESSIAH COLLEGE: The following students were among the 651 to graduate from Messiah College May 18: Dakotah Bosworth, of Forest Hill, who graduated cum laude with a degree in health and exercise science; Kelly Curran, of Bel Air, who graduated with a degree in peace and conflict studies; Matthew Danmyer, of White Hall, who graduated cum laude with a degree in marketing; Mollie McCreesh, of Fallston, who graduated cum laude with a degree in business administration; Stephanie Schell, of Jarrettsville, who graduated summa cum laude with a degree in molecular biology; Jada Vance, of Bel Air, who graduated cum laude with a degree in nursing; George Waltemire, of Stewartstown, Pa., who graduated magna cum laude with a degree in music performance.
DAVIS & ELKINS COLLEGE: Davis & Elkins College held its 104th commencement May 18, honoring 119 graduates including: Katrina Tiedeman, earned a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics. She is the daughter of Henry and Ellen Tiedeman, of Jarrettsville.
HOOD COLLEGE: The Provost's Office at Hood College announces the local students who qualified for the spring dean's list: Nicholas Temple, of Abingdon; and Kaitlyn Shackelford, of Bel Air.
UNIVERSITY OF SCRANTON: The University of Scranton has announced it's Dean's List, which includes Steven Graefe, of Street, a freshman with a exercise science major in Scranton's Panuska College of Professional Studies.
UNIVERSITY OF RHODE ISLAND: At the University of Rhode Island's 127th commencement on May 18-19, more than 3,200 undergraduate and 770 graduate students became the University's newest alumni, including Caroline Vonasek, of Monkton, who received a BS in Nursing and graduated cum laude.
JOHNSON STATE COLLEGE: Johnson State College's 146th commencement took place May 18, and Andrew Marquez, of Bel Air, was awarded a bachelor's degree.
DAVENPORT UNIVERSITY: Davenport University has announced Robert Hughes, of Joppa, joined the ranks of more than 2,000 new college graduates, officially completing degrees in business, technology or health professions at the end of the winter 2013 semester.
SHEPHERD UNIVERSITY: Madalyn L. Sullivan, of Abingdon, and Amanda M. Custer of Bel Air were among 633 students at Shepherd University to make the fall dean's list.
PHILADELPHIA UNIVERSITY: Kristin Summers, a 2009 graduate of John Carroll and resident of Fallston, graduated in May from Philadelphia University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Fashion Merchandising. She has accepted a position at Burlington Coat Factory's corporate office in Burlington, N.J., as an assistant buyer.
