The draft of the 2013 Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan is available for public review and comment on the department's website, http://www.harfordcountymd.gov/planningzoning, and at the Department of Planning and Zoning office at 220 S. Main St. in Bel Air.
The plan is an important step in helping Harford County become a truly multi-modal community by identifying needed facilities and presenting actions for implementation. It is also an important step in helping Harford County become a healthier community.
To help citizens understand the plan, the department will be conducting an informational open house on Jan. 16. The open house will be held in the second floor conference room of the County Administrative Building, 220 S. Main St. in Bel Air. The session will be from 5 to 8 p.m.; participants are welcome to stop in any time during the period to learn more about the plan.
Participants will be able to visit a series of stations that will provide information about the draft plan's various sections including projects, strategies and implementation. In addition to the open house, public input will also be accepted online at the department's website. Public comment will be accepted through Jan. 31.
