Macy's and March of Dimes invite customers to participate in the seventh annual "Shop For A Cause" charity shopping event at all Macy's locations on Saturday, Aug. 24.
"Shop For A Cause" is Macy's unique one-day-only shopping event that was created to support local charities' fundraising efforts, which has helped raise more than $42 million for charitable organizations across the country since 2006.
"This sale is a great way for families to shop for their fall necessities and give back at the same time," said Heather Lynch, Harford County community director for the March of Dimes. "Whether families are shopping for back-to-school fashions or getting a jump start for the holidays; these saving passes show Macy's corporate responsibility and support for the families in our community."
On Saturday, Aug. 24, customers making a purchase with a "Shop For A Cause" savings pass will save 25 percent on regular, sale and clearance merchandise, as well as 10 percent off watches, furniture, mattresses and area rugs, plus are eligible to win a $500 gift card. Shopping passes sold at Macy's stores and macys.com are $5 each, and will benefit March of Dimes. The organization will receive 100 percent of every ticket sold at Macy's stores and on macys.com. Shopping passes are only sold on macys.com on Aug. 24, but customers may purchase shopping passes in advance at all Macy's locations starting Aug. 14. By purchasing a shopping pass in store, customers can support March of Dimes while enjoying a day of spectacular discounts, entertainment, special events.
Last year, Macy's raised $3.2 million for the March of Dimes mission to give moms full-term pregnancies and healthy babies.
