After retiring from the Maryland State Police in 1992, Jerry Scarborough, from Dublin, purchased Hall's Septic Service from Ray Hall.

Ray Hall started the company 21 years prior to Scarborough's purchase. The company consisted of two old trucks that would only haul one load at a time.

After his second year in business, Scarborough started Hall's Honey Pots portable toilets. Forty-one years later, Hall's Septic Service's has seven employees, eight trucks and 300 portable toilets. The company serves Harford, Baltimore and Cecil counties. The 20th anniversary of Scarborough buying the business was July 1, and on July 7, Scarborough, and his wife, Kathy, marked the anniversary by renting the Lantern Queen Riverboat and taking his family, employees and their families on the river for a day.
