Freedom Federal Credit Union is supporting the Harford Family House and the Welcome One Emergency Shelter with collection boxes in each of the credit unions in Harford County.
The boxes are used to collect for daily needs items for both shelters, as well as gently used or vintage handbags in support of Harford Family House's "Hope in Handbags" auction planned for late September at the Bel Air Armory. Freedom employees will also help clean collected handbags for the auction.
Items collected for both shelters will help supplement some of the most basic needs of hygiene and cleanliness. Families can access the closet once a week as needed to collect items that cannot be bought using food stamps. Lists of items needed will be displayed on the donation boxes placed in the Freedom branches and can be obtained by visiting the organizations' website.
Donations of items to both of these shelters can be made at any of Freedoms five Harford County locations during regular branch lobby hours. Visit http://www.freedomfcu.org for Freedom branch locations and hours. Monetary donations will not be accepted at Freedom branches but can be made directly to each shelter.Copyright © 2015, The Baltimore Sun
