Lynn Davis has been hired as a senior project manager for Harford-based Ecotone Inc., an ecological design build firm.
Davis will be developing and managing Ecotone's environmental credit market services in the Mid-Atlantic region.
Davis spent the last 14 years in the land development industry. As director of land development for Bob Ward Companies, and previously for Michael T. Rose Companies, she was responsible for managing all phases of residential development from planning and engineering through construction and final bond release. Prior to working in the land development industry, she worked for five years as an natural resources environmental consultant for both private and public sector clients. Davis is a registered Professional Wetland Scientist with a master of science in biology from UNC Wilmington, where she studied wetland ecology and fisheries, and a bachelor of science in biology from University of Maryland.
Her diverse background in both the land development and environmental fields gives her a unique perspective of land use and the environment and provides a comprehensive understanding of Ecotone's unique market-based approach to environmental restoration and protection. The company builds coalitions among developers, investors, preservation groups and property owners to achieve reciprocal goals within the existing regulatory framework. Ecotone is a local pioneering organization in the establishment of off-site restoration areas, or environmental "banks," where the company creates new forest communities or restores wetlands or streams, then allows participants to buy credit into the banks. In this way, Ecotone facilitates the establishment of much larger, more ecologically significant restoration efforts.Copyright © 2014, The Baltimore Sun
