Harford accounting firm WC&S acquires Cecil business

After several years working together in a business relationship, Chesapeake Accounting & Bookkeeping Service Inc. has joined the CPA firm of Weyrich, Cronin & Sorra Chartered (WC&S).

Chesapeake Accounting & Bookkeeping Service Inc. has been serving Maryland, Delaware and Pennsylvania for more than 30 years and has been voted one of Cecil County's favorites for accounting and bookkeeping services several years in a row. Their professional approach blended with personal touches has earned enormous confidence of all their clients.

"Jennifer Arches embodies the heartbeat of our firm, which is to provide the highest quality services to clients and deliver it with close personal attention," Benny Walker, partner in the Bel Air office of WC&S, said. "WC&S has been doing work in Cecil County for several years and performing the tax work for Jennifer's clients for the past two years. The merger was a natural next step."

Both Chesapeake Accounting & Bookkeeping Service and WC&S are extremely proud of the quality of their staff, their work product and their service. Clients, both old and new can anticipate the same attention and high quality service that they have come to expect along with some additional services that WC&S can provide.

"I'm looking forward to the expanded service offerings that WC&S can offer to our clients," Arches of Chesapeake Accounting & Bookkeeping Service said. "It's a huge benefit for clients to have 'big firm' talent and services that they can access right here in Cecil County."

Chesapeake Accounting & Bookkeeping Service Inc. will remain in its office at 202 E. Pulaski Highway in Elkton and all the staff will remain there as well. The only change is that WC&S will have a larger presence there than previously.

In 1979, Weyrich, Cronin & Sorra was founded under the leadership of Carroll Weyrich, William Cronin and Manny Sorra. At that time, their goal was to establish an accounting practice built around proactive client service delivered through "close personal attention." Almost 35 years later the tradition of excellent client service continues.

Today, Weyrich Cronin & Sorra employs 50 people in its three offices in Lutherville, Bel Air and Elkton. Over the years, the firm has expanded its range of services beyond the traditional tax, accounting and consulting services to include practice areas that specialize in forensic and investigative accounting, business valuations, employee benefit plan audits, non-profits, small and family owned businesses, local municipalities and dental practices.
