Vacation Bible School at Franklin Baptist Church from July 25-29 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. for kids ages 4 - 17 with transportation available by calling Rick Wilson at 410-378-5346. The church is at 2106 Franklin Church Road in Darlington. All are welcome to attend.

Vacation Bible School will be Aug. 1 through Aug. 5 at the Dublin United Methodist Church. A light supper will be served beginning at 5 p.m., followed by the start of the program. For further information call 410-836-3647.

The Dublin/Darlington Community Council will not be meeting in July, however there will be a meeting Aug. 17 held at the Emergency Operations Center at 2220 Ady Road in Forest Hill. A tour of the facility will kick off the meeting at 7 p.m. If you are interested in attending, please RSVP Jane Howe.

It's that time of year again when the Girl Scout Troops get busy with registrations so they can plan for their activities this fall. At this time there are openings in all levels of scouting which include girls from kindergarten through 12th grade. Summer's here and the local swimming pool is open! The Conowingo Swimming Pool, a property of the Exelon Corporation, is open daily from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. until Sept. 5. The pool is at 4948 Conowingo Road in Darlington near Conowingo Dam. The 2011 event schedule includes plenty of family fun with crafts, movies, games and contests, plus music.
