O Christmas tree, O Christmas tree. Well it is that time again folks. The annual Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony in the lot adjacent to Rodgers Tavern will be Dec.14 from 4 to 5:30 p.m. There will be caroling, along with crafts for sale and light refreshments; Santa also will be there.
A craft show with Santa is planned for 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 7 at Principio United Methodist Church, 1511 Principio Furnace Road, Perryville. Grab the kids for a fun day with Santa. He has gifts for the children and you can get a picture taken with him. How about a family picture?
A secret Santa room will be open where kids can purchase a $1 gifts including gift bags for mom and dad. Have lunch while there: a hot dog or sloppy joes with chips and soda; soups, pies, breads. The Worthy Grand Matron Sister Bette Bowen and the Worthy Grand Patron Brother William Gunn and the Grand Officers of the Grand Chapter of Maryland Order of the Eastern Star visited Havre de Grace Chapter 27, OES at their annual Grand Visitation Meeting.
Special guests included Sister Wilma Thompson, Chairman of the Belmont Ball and Past Grand Matron of Maryland; Brother Jon A. Thompson, member of the Scottish Rite Charities Committee and Past Grand Patron of Maryland; nine Past Grand Matrons and Past Grand Patrons of Maryland; fifteen Grand Officers, 11 Grand Representatives of Maryland; five Deputy Grand Lecturers; eight Worthy Matrons and Worthy Patrons of other Chapters; 18 Past Matrons and Past Patrons of other Chapters; two visitors, 28 officers, members and honorary members of Havre de Grace.
Also greeted was Brother Tim Schupfer, who is the Worshipful Master of Cumberland Lodge. The chapter presented a program for the Worthy Grand Matron and Worthy Grand Patron with candles that were lit in conjunction with their station.
The WGM and WGP were presented with a Chapter gifts of candles and special greenery. They also received Honorary Memberships to Havre de Grace Chapter 27 and proclamations from the City of Havre de Grace singed by the mayor.
