Heavy traffic in Havre de Grace may have been to blame for an accident Tuesday morning involving a Harford County Sheriff's Office patrol car.

Jody Nickoles, whose address was listed as the sheriff's office headquarters in Bel Air, was in her patrol car on Ontario Street shortly after 10 a.m. Tuesday when it was hit on the rear passenger side by a 1994 Chevrolet S10, driven by William Todd Daniel, 55, of the 300 block of Lakeside Drive in North East.

Daniel was turning from Ohio Street onto Ontario Street, according to an accident report, and hit the patrol car.

"Traffic volume was high due to a traffic collision on I-95," the report read. Around 8 a.m. a tractor trailer carrying diesel fuel overturned on the side of the interstate, forcing the closing of all lanes for northbound traffic on I-95 for seven hours Tuesday.

No one was injured in the accident involving the patrol car and no charges have been filed.
