All 460 seats to the largest party of the year for Harford County's homeless and neglected animals are already sold out, but there are still plenty of ways to support the animals at the shelter.

The Humane Society of Harford County's Bow Wow Boogie will be held May 3 from 7:30-11:30 p.m. at the Richlin Ballroom, 1700 Van Bibber Road, Edgewood.

Local businesses and animal lovers across the region are encouraged to show support for shelter animals by donating gift cards, jewelry, artwork, professional services, tickets to area attractions, and other items for the evening's popular silent auction. Monetary donations are accepted as well. Donations are tax-deductible and net proceeds from the evening benefit an average of 4,500 animals that enter the shelter each year.

New this year is a raffle for "2 Tickets to Paradise." The winner will enjoy nine days and eight nights aboard Royal Caribbean's Grandeur of the Seas with ports of call at Port Canaveral, Fla.; Nassau, Bahamas; Royal Caribbean's private island CocoCay; and Key West, Fla.

Amenities include an ocean view stateroom, meals in your choice of five restaurants, the Casino Royale, 11 decks, 6 pools with whirlpools, eight bars and restaurants, sophisticated nightlife hotspots, and a $500 onboard credit. The Grandeur of the Seas will set sail from Baltimore on Nov. 8, and will return Nov. 16. Raffle tickets for the cruise are on sale at the shelter for $100 each and only 150 tickets will be sold. Use your credit card and call Kim Aumiller at 410-836-1090, x111 (tickets will be mailed to you). The winning ticket will be drawn at the Bow Wow Boogie on May 3, but the winner does not need to be present to win.

A returning favorite is the silent auction where guests can bid on a variety of gift baskets. New this year is a raffle for a wheelbarrow of cheer and a raffle for a tower of beer.

There are a variety of sponsorship opportunities available that provide recognition in advertisements, on our website at http://www.harfordshelter.org on our Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/thehumanesocietyofharfordcounty and in the event program that evening. The "Top Dog" event sponsor is Animal Emergency Hospital.

To become an event sponsor, contact Mary Leavens at 410-836-1090, x101 or mleavens@harfordshelter.org. Donations to the live and silent auction can be mailed or brought into the shelter at 2208 Connolly Road, Fallston, by April 26. Proceeds benefit the homeless and neglected animals of Harford County.

The Humane Society of Harford County, Inc., is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) charitable organization dedicated to the welfare and well-being of the approximately 4,500 animals that come to the site each year.
