AMC Harford garden tour to benefit cancer research

Nine gardens in Harford County from Pylesville, Bel Air, Abingdon and Churchville, ranging in size from 5 acres to a third of an acre of woodland, shade and sunny landscapes will be part of the AMC Harford County Chapter Garden Tour Sunday.

The self-guided tour on Sunday, May 19, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., features the creative artistry of dedicated gardeners and gives visitors ideas for their gardens, or lets them just swoon over the masterpieces presented on this tour, according to Mozelle Brown, of the AMC Harford chapter.

Presale tickets are available for $20 at Broom's Bloom Dairy, Brad's Produce, Country Garden Center, Kroh's Nursery, Jonathan's Florist, Richardson's Florist, Tea by Two and Preston's.

Tickets are $25 on tour day.

A special AMC Garden Tour lunch will be held at Broom's Bloom for $10.

Proceeds support research in prevention and control of cancer at the Johns Hopkins Pediatric Oncology Center and AMC-University of Colorado Cancer Center.
