McDaniel College Sports Hall of Fame inductees [Pictures]

Five Carroll County residents and three others were inducted Nov. 3 into the Green Terror Sports Hall of Fame at McDaniel College. The Sports Hall of Fame awards are presented to graduates and former athletes who performed as undergraduate athletes and who have contributed to society since leaving the college.

Teron Powell, of Baltimore, graduated in 2002 from McDaniel College, and competed in four sports ¿ football, basketball, and indoor and outdoor track and field. He was the starting wide receiver on multiple conference championship football teams and was honored as a selection to the All Centennial Conference First Team in 1999 and 2001 was a second team pick in 2000. He earned a championship in the 4x400 relay at Penn Relays and a conference championship in the 4x400 relay in 1999. He¿s now executive director at Silverman Treatment Solutions in Columbia.
