Chapelgate Presbyterian Church, 2600 Marriottsville Road, Marriottsville, is serving as a drop-off location for Hurricane Sandy relief for supplies that are currently of greatest need in New York and New Jersey.
The first pick-up was on Wednesday, Nov. 7, and weekly pickups will be made, according to the church website, www.chapelgate.org/sandy.
The site notes that donated items can be dropped off at the church, in its Nursery Atrium, anytime the building is open, Monday through Friday and Sunday mornings. Items of greatest need (in order of greatest to least) are:
• Non-perishable Food
• Baby Food
• Baby Wipes
• Pet Food
• Cleaning Supplies
• Gift Cards (Visa/cash value, Lowes/Home Depot, Children's Clothing Stores).
If donating gifts cards, please drop them off with the church receptionist (during office hours). Call 410-442-5800.
The church also notes that if people wish to make a monetary donation, or would like to get more directly involved with churches in the affected areas, Redeemer Presbyterian Church in New York, N.Y., has put together a disaster relief page — www.redeemerpca.net/sandy-disaster-relief — with multiple ways to get involved.
