The Carroll County Sheriff's Office reported Tuesday that the body of a Baltimore City man missing in the area of Liberty Reservoir since Sept. 9 had been found.
According to the Sheriff's Office account, Baltimore City Watershed Rangers patrolling the reservoir were stopped by a motorist just before 9 a.m. on Sept. 13 along Liberty Road (Route 26) reporting an object floating in the reservoir north of the Liberty Road bridge.
With the assistance of a Baltimore County Police Helicopter, rangers located a partially decomposed body in the water and called Sheriff's Office deputies and the Rescue Dive Team from the Gamber and Community Volunteer Fire Company to assist.
The body was recovered and identified as 44-year-old Christopher Anthony White of Baltimore.
White had been reported missing to Baltimore City Police on Sept. 9, and had been the subject of a multi-agency search after a Maryland State Trooper discovered his vehicle parked unattended along the shoulder on Liberty Road adjacent to the Reservoir.
Sheriff's investigators did not locate any obvious signs of trauma on White's body, which has been transported to the state Medical Examiner's Office for Autopsy. The sheriff's office said that White had been diagnosed with anxiety.
Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact Det. Cpl. Carlos Bustos of the Carroll County Sheriff's Office at 410-386-2900, or the Anonymous TIPS Hotline at 1-888-399-TIPP.Copyright © 2015, The Baltimore Sun
