The Fallfest Mile run will immediately precede the parade, starting at the corner of Monroe Street and Pennsylvania Avenue. This year's run will be presented by Fit4Women to benefit the Stacey Davis Breast Cancer Fund. Go to http://www.westminsterfallfest.com to register.
Also on Thursday, entertainment on the Food Court Stage will include Carroll's Idol Variety Show, 6 to 10 p.m.
Friday, Sept. 23
Midnight Madness hits the streets on Friday, 6 p.m. to midnight, with stores open late and live music and other attractions.
Among the performances are Christopher James in the dining room of Giulianova Groceria and Italian Deli from 7 to 9 p.m.; Set Sail Joseph at Birdie's Café, 7 to 10 p.m.; and Devils in the Details at Johansson Dining House from 9:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m.
Other entertainment includes groups at the Locust Lane stage: Patty Reese, 6 to 8 p.m.; dance performances by students of d.a.n.c.e.Inc. from 8:15 to 8:45 p.m.; a martial arts demonstration from Tri-Star Marital Arts from 9 to 9:30 p.m.; and Joe Keyes and The Late Bloomers, from 9:45 to 11:45 p.m.
Carroll Rhythms will run a drum circle at the corner of Main and Liberty streets, from 7 to 8 p.m. The public is invited to join in with them.
Downtown Westminster Ghost Walks will commence from Birdie's Café, 233 East Main St., at 7:30, 8, 9, 9:30 and 11 p.m.
And the "Cruise on in to Main Street" Classic Car Display will line East Main Street all evening.
Saturday -Sunday, Sept. 24-25
Along with rides, food and other festival attractions, the weekend will include the 2011 Karaoke Contest, sponsored by WTTR, on Saturday, beginning at 1 p.m., and vendors on the Longwell parking lot, Saturday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday, noon to 6 p.m.
There will also be entertainment at the festival Main Stage, and also on the Longwell Deck.
Saturday, Main Stage:
10 a.m.-noon — Music with Monte.
6-10 p.m. — Whitehouse Effect.
Saturday, Longwell Deck:
11:30 a.m.-noon — Tri-Star Martial Arts.
Noon-1 p.m. — Taneytown Dance.
