Head of the class: Owings Mills students excel in academics

Elizabeth Parks, of Owings Mills, was named to the spring 2012 dean's list atFairfield University, Fairfield, Conn.

Charlie Gruner, of Stevenson, was recently named to the spring 2012 high honor roll at Pomfret School, Pomfret, Conn.

Ariane Noar, of Owings Mills, was named to the spring 2012 dean's list at Emory College, in Atlanta.

The following received degrees from Emory University, in Atlanta on May 14.

Nicholas Kim, of Reisterstown, received an Associate in Arts; Jennifer Ro, of Pikesville, received an Associate in Arts; Emily Lafferman, of Reisterstown, received a Bachelor of Arts; Allison Daniels, of Owings Mills, received a Bachelor of Business Administration; Danielle Spearman, of Reisterstown, received a Doctor of Physical Therapy.

Danielle Katz, of Reisterstown, was named to the spring 2012 honor roll with high distinction at Southern Methodist University, in Dallas.

Allison Waskow and Bari Rosenstein, of Owings Mills; Nicole Lorber and Rebecca Myers, of Reisterstown, were named to the spring 2012 dean's list at Elizabethtown, Pa.

Emerson Koerber, of Reisterstown, was named the most valuable player and was named to the First Team All-Conference Delaney Athletic Conference for the Randolph-Macon Academy varsity tennis team, in Front Royal, Va.

Todd Bakalyar, of Reisterstown, earned a Bachelor of Science degree in political science and, law and society and Kaneisha Howard, of Pikesville, earned a Bachelor of Science degree in social work from Frostburg State University, in Frostburg.

Alyssa Glasser, Marci Hameroff, Laura Koler and Leila Kurman, of Owings Mills; Kaila Hough and Daniel Plaut, of Reisterstown have been named to the spring 2012 dean's list at St. Mary's College of Maryland,St. Mary's City.

Kelsey Poisson, of Reisterstown, and Ashley Snelling, of Owings Mills, have been named to the spring 2012 dean's list at Cornell University, Ithaca, N.Y.

Spencer Riehl, of Reisterstown, was named to the 2012 dean's list at Denison University, Granville, Ohio.

Gregory Miller, of Reisterstown, received a Bachelor of Science degree and Molly Shifrin, of Reisterstown, received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Miami University, Oxford, Ohio on May 5.

Lindsay Eckhaus, of Owings Mills, graduated summa cum laude from Tufts University, Medford, Mass., and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa in April.

Amy Ward, of Stevenson, graduated from Villanova University, Villanova, Pa with a Master of Science degree in human resource development on May 20.

Nataniel Lobel, of Reisterstown, was named to the spring 2012 dean's list at Worcester Polytechnic Institute, Worcester, Mass.

David Narrow, of Owings Mills, graduated magna cum laude from the University of Rochester, Rochester, N.Y., on May 20, with a Bachelor of Science degree in biomedical engineering.

Emerson Koerber, of Reisterstown, graduated from Randolph-Macon Academy, Front Royal, Va. on June 2. His achievements include spring 2012 dean's list, named most valuable player in both soccer and tennis, a member of the National Spanish Honor Society. His senior year awards included the President's Award for Academic Achievement and a Certificate of Excellence for Physics.

Brittany Steiner, of Owings Mills, was named to the Binghamton University spring 2012 dean's list at Binghamton University, Binghamton, N.Y.

Kori Brierley-Bowers, of Owings Mills, earned a place in the Bard College at Simon's Rock, Great Barrington, Mass., for fall 2012 after completing grade 11 at Oldfields School.
