Eagle soars from tree carving

Mallets and gouges are tools of the trade for artist Jim Calder as he carves a bald eagle into a dead tree at the home of Eileen and Howard Webster in White Hall, on Sept. 22. The couple commissioned Calder to carve the eagle in honor of their son Patrick's attainment of Eagle Scout status last year.
