The Gunpowder River Artfest at Boordy Vineyards is part fine arts and crafts fair, part children's festival, part dance party and part food and wine gala.
The third annual Artfest will be held on June 2 from noon to 7 p.m. Some 75 artists will have handiworks on sale. They include jewelers, painters, potters, weavers and wood-workers.
"We have expanded both the blend and the balance of crafters this year," said Tami Satterfield, founder of Northern Baltimore County Art Foundation, which sponsors Artfest. Proceeds go toward a scholarship for local students majoring in art in college.
Food at Artfest is by Clementine, Haute Dog and Bricker's French fries. Kids activities include face painting, paper airplane making and hula hoop lessons.
Families are invited to bring their own food, chairs and picnic blankets.
Nelly's Echo and Midlife Crisis will be playing music during the day.
Wine tasting is included in the admission price for those 21 and older.
Tickets are $12 for adults and $10 for teens 13-20. Kids 12 and under are free.
Boordy Vineyards is located at 12820 Long Green Pike, Hydes. For a complete list of vendors and more details, go to http://www.nbcaf.com.
